Passport name change
Howdy y'all, it's been a while!
So I'm a dual citizen now and I've just got married.
Found out that to change my name on my UK passport I have to apply for a renewal and pay the full fee.
Is it worth it seeing as I have a US passport? Anyone see any problems if I don't change my UK passport and just travel on my US passport?
Thanks

Re: Passport name change
I let my British passport lapse a few years ago and only renewed it recently. While it felt a bit odd entering the UK as a USC visitor, it caused zero issues for me, and wasn't even commented on by the immigration officers.

Re: Passport name change
As Ian said, you can use your passport without changing the name on it. You can, in due course, renew it in your maiden name, as Ian implied.

Another caveat - if you do intend to use your married name but don't wish to renew your British passport yet for cost purposes then you should start using your married name on your other identification (e.g. US passport) otherwise a passport examiner may question why you wish to change your name several years after your marriage when you do renew your British passport.
