File Location problems
Following change of address out of state from NY, and numerous failed
attempts to find the current location of my files (AOS application etc) I'm
now hoping to use the FOIA to get some answers.
Fed Plaza failed to reply or even acknowledge about 5 enquiry letters, the
so-called national 'service' center sent me on fruitless wild goose chases
and I know of no other way to get a few simple answers.
I'm not clear however about where I should be sending the form (G-639)
..
Should it go to NY (where the original AOS application was filed), or to
the nearest INS office to my new address?
I've been getting conflicting advice.
Any thoughts appreciated ..

You may submit this application to the USCIS office nearest your place of residence.

Why are you crabbing -- after all, it is YOU that moved.
Send it to the Missouri Records Center -- they will get the request to the right place and tell you where it went.

Also contact your congressman/woman. It is their job to help you. They ussually have a liason that can interface directly with the CIS.
