Haha...so true....it's a bit like people complaining that he hasn't really achieved anything, when it's the other side that keeps veto'ing any change

Spot on! He's actually done quite a lot considering he didn't get much (if any) help from the opposition. I just hope he holds firm and doesn't cave in on the Heath Care Law.

I saw an interview with a gal named Whitman who was a moderate Republican on CNN. (Sorry, I wasn't familiar with her before this, but I gather she's well known.) Finally someone who made a lot of sense!! She basically said that the Republicans voted into the office would make their go at repealing healthcare reform, but that honestly she thought most Americans were in favor of it, so it would be primarily for show and after 6 months or so they could focus on other things.

He didn't spend trillions on two wars
didn't start the tarp program
didn't give excessive tax cuts
move along move along......... nothing to see here.

I'm disappointed that he hasn't done anything to curb the influence of lobbyists (of all stripes) or even mentioned term limits to ameliorate the curse of career politicians. But since he's a career politician himself, I'm not surprised.

I think there's plenty of blame to go around for both parties.

Make a name for yourself, start organizing a grassroots campaign now.

Equally I despair of the unthinking left trying to paint Obama as a heroic, historic president when I see him, as you say, as a rather dull career politician.
