Re: Very confused by streaming options
I didn't notice a cloud DVR with Youtube TV, whereas Playstation Vue has that. I am still trying to work out if I need to buy a DVR as I can't see another way to record PBS programming. But any streaming service I use will have to include cloud DVR. Which is why I didn't continue with DirecTV, even though it will be the cheapest for us as we have AT&T phones.

A lot of the PBS shows are available on the PBS app or PBS channel.

Yeah - there are a lot, but not all - I am still going through the shows I recorded when I had DISH and working out what ones are missing from the PBS channel. I also need to see if I get them elsewhere, such as Amazon.
So I double checked YoutubeTV - that does have cloud DVR, I just scrolled past it too quickly.
Another question - anyone used PlayON?

Yes, I have a lifetime sub to PlayOn. I have everything except the cloud DVR, which is available on wither a subscription basis or at 20 cents per recording.
PlayOn is my go-to media server for torrented shows and is getting used less and less as more content becomes available, like EastEnders - a regularly downloaded show until I got Britbox and was able to support the program legally with a subscription!
Just about all my streaming is done through my Fire TVs and Roku. but PlayOn does give me some DVR functionality.

I don't know if any of you wonderful folks know the answer to this: why is it that I can see on Wikipedia or IMDB that a show has screened 10 episodes on TNT and if I still had DISH, I would have seen those 10 episodes and probably recorded them. But on ROKU there are only 5 episodes? no sign of the latest 5 either on demand or on TNT via Playstation Vue or directly as a streaming channel on the Roku? WHY?
