Re: UK TV Programs
"The Making of A Lady" on Tuesdays on ITV sounds promising -- if you're into period drama. The first episode just aired ...

Hmm ... what's the difference Paris or Halifax Nope not got round to watching it yet. I like Ann Reid so I probably will eventually.

Secret State, kind of enjoyed that, conspiracy stuff.
The Hour, not got around to watching it still, so how has this second series gone?
The Town, The Fear, both new series, sounded interesting and a good mix of cast in both, but any good?
The Poison Tree, 2 parter lined up, sounded quite good.
Didn't really dig this series of Misfits all that much in the end, just didn't really like the new characters and it seemed a bit meh.
Some what lacking for holiday specials though, but did get the Nigella Lawson one.

The Town - OK, watchable, not great.
The Fear - same comment.
Poison Tree - better. Especially when there is not much better around.
Still think that Last Tango has been the most entertaining recently. Now have to wait for the second series next year (as long as the main cast members last that long).

IMHO - The Hour, didn't watch after the first. Not my kind of thing.

Doors Open and Restless, both one offs or mini series, not quite sure, but both sounded promising, but any one catch them?
What about the Christmas specials? We finally caught up with them.
Mr Stink was kind of fun, but got a bit heavy and serious there...anyone catch it in 3D?
Room on a Broom, this was our favourite, the kids loved this. Same author and production folks who did The Gruffalo. Just a really lovely little short story this.
Downtown Abbey, well talk about depressing, good though...but certainly doesn't leave any one wondering about characters for the new series that they were talking about.
Mount Pleasant, well that was a bit silly, not bad, but also a little tame for a special and didn't really do anything for us.
Trollied, that was kind of amusing though.

Re: UK TV Programs
Really enjoyed Downton (as usual) and Call the Midwife was very good and nostalgic. Restless and Doors Open are downloaded and ready to watch any time soon. Nice to have something to watch for a change.

We watched the Royle Family Christmas special, it was mildly amusing as was HIGNFY.

Restless was very disappointing. It was tedious...I struggled to keep awake.
The actress who plays the daughter is the same as Lady Mary in Downton. Her voice suits her character in Downton but in this is was just plain boring.

Re: UK TV Programs
The Royles were, sadly, way past their use by date. Almost embarrassing. Doors Open? Ho-hum and unrealistic.

Re: UK TV Programs
Should have been 30 minutes instead of an hour. Just cut out everything that had Joe in it and its a lot closer to how it should have been (though still not perfect).
