I personally know several in laws and friends who both own and in some cases carry guns, I have even shot them for enjoyment. Not one of them to my knowledge has ever committed a gun related crime with them. Best confiscate them just in case, anyway
Who has ever mentioned anything about confiscating guns? It's about not allowing anyone on a terrorist watch list or no fly list to buy a firearm.

It's about closing the loop hole where guns are sold at gun shows and other places where no background checks have been done, requiring every gun buyer to undergo a background check and banning high powered assault type weapons.

These measures shouldn't even have to be debated. They should have been instituted under the Department of Homeland Security.

What will it take to get Congress to get the ball rolling ? Paul Ryan only made himself look like the spineless little asshole he is by trying to push through votes on other legislation and ignoring calls for debate on gun control

Gun shows are as a American as state fares, once the federal government start telling people what they can and can't do at these, where does it end? This, in a nutshell, is why there is so much opposition to what Democrats, who didn't seem too fussed about gun control when they ran Congress, are proposing. All this law would end up doing is shutting down gun shows, which might not matter to ex pats on this forum but to 1000s of Americans are a way of life and to local economies an important revenue stream

It's amazing that Americans don't still live in caves and hunt woolly mammoths. From your description of them, they are incapable of evolving and accepting new things.

You cant sell heroin or opium at a County Fair so yes the government do have some jurisdiction on what can and cannot be done at public events

All that the organizers of gun shows need to do is clean up their act within and stop the vendors peddling firearms under the table. I reckon the rules are so lax at these shows that even Bin Laden could have picked up an AK

You really need to read the thread before you look like a bigger plonker than everyone already thinks of your postings.

No one has really suggested banning guns.

Stricter control of ownership is not the same thing.

With that lack of comprehension, well it kind of speaks volumes.

Also, most people are murderers till they kill someone. So you're not really having a very goo argument with your tiny little anecdotal evidence.
