Gun Ownership

Re: Gun Ownership
There is no 'permit' in GA. Lest you forget, it is a protected right. Background check is it down here.

Re: Gun Ownership
I was in the same situation as you a few months ago.
First, look over the Firearms Transaction Record (OTC) - ATF Form 5300.9:
https://www.atf.gov/firearms/docs/44...53009/download
You will be filling one of those out when buying a gun.
Second, pay special attention to these two questions:
12.d.1
12.d.2
You need to fall in an exception within that category (question 18.c). So, you will need something like a hunting license which is one of the exceptions.
I'm unsure of the hunting license requirements for the state of Colorado but I'm going to assume these two requirements: Live in the state for at least 6 months to earn residency status and second go through hunters education.
So yes you can buy a firearm providing you fall within one of those exceptions however that is Federal law. I am unsure if Colorado has anything specific. My state of Idaho is completely Pro 2A so that's all I needed.
My next firearm will be a Springfield XDS 3.3 - 9mm. The rebates and extra stuff you get is second to none. Great for concealed carry which is what I'm going for. Although I don't need a permit I am taking the enhanced course since the reciprocity is a ton more states than the standard.
As always. Try before you buy and operate safely.

Springfield do great guns!
I think they're trying to get back credibility after the trigger fiasco on the XDS hence all the free goodies!
If you buy the "Essentials" pack you can also get the rebate too. Essentially giving you 4 mags, a holster, mag pouch, case, the gun and cleaning kit. All for under $500!

But you can't change it, and I can't see it ever changing. Your choices are (i) accept the situation, (ii) leave the US, or (iii) drive yourself nuts over the insanity of it all!

Re: Gun Ownership
I would happily see anyone who makes laws allowing firearms into a person's hands to feel the full force of the weapon they are happy with others possessing which could kill others. It would be poetic. As Pulaski states, often they have no choice as they are guided by the law. Those who make laws which make us _all_ at risk of murder by firearm should also live life with the same risks we do, without security, without an armed police detail. They could start with allowing guns into Congress, but no...what's good for them isn't good enough for us, is it? You only need to look at these horrid ****s to see what they think of our right to healthcare - they'll keep their ACA plans, but we all go without.

LOL! Legal gun owners and members of the NRA have extremely low rates of gun violence. It's the inner cities that are saturated with illegal and stolen weapons where most American crime occurs. If you live in lily-white suburbia, you have very little chance of being gunned down by a freak. And I hope most people don't wish evil on legal gun sellers or the people who process the permits.

No, they still are under the Federal Employers Health Benefits Program with a "gold" plan that can be purchased through an exchange. (Nothing like the $4,000 a month premium United Healthcare tried to stick us with in January, I presume.) In fact, it seems Congress has the best of both worlds although today's ACA reform may have changed that.
