You have to pay extra for sloppy shit on BA nowadays. It used to be included.

Had a frustrating experience with my UK flight the other day. Check-in time comes around, so I go to the 'Thomas Cook Airlines' website. Asks me to enter my "Booking Number".

So I go look at the purchase confirmation and it looks like this:

So there it is, upper right corner, 'Booking Number' (VUS-...). What could be more straight forward than that?

Well, the entry is rejected. So then I assume, maybe since I booked through this random website 'Vayama', that I need to choose the 'other tour operator' option; so I spend ages going down that rabbit hole. FINALLY - in desperation and expecting zero results, I put the data from the field "Online Checkin Number" (LW...) in the field labeled 'Booking Number' and ... it worked! So who decided to label something 'Booking Number' when this will be asked for at checking time and will correspond to differently named field ...?!?
