Our mate used to lease one, god knows what it cost though, we stayed in it Sept 2000, and I got chatting to a couple moored outside the apartment.

Thats that rough area, lol Benalmadena, we stayed in one of those apartments, they have swimming pools on the roofs. Antonio Bandylegs owned one on the same block, you can see them on Google Earth.

About 10k up river from Ayamonte. He posts on here so you search for him and his web address is in his signiture box. He moors mid river so he is not in Portugal or in Spain so who do you pay mooring fees to?

Seriously Big Pete you are still trying to make up your mind so why not come over for a few days and check the area out. As John says we are well up river and yes, JDR, we do get mozzies but not always and the view from our terrace is a bit special.
By the way if you are still looking for a boat I can offer you a rather nice little 4 metre Zodiac rib plus 40 hp outboard for not a lot of cash. Perfect for exploring the river. I will try and get a picture on this entry. the trailer is not included but they are cheap buy out here and you could always keep it in the garage when away and then tow it to where you want to use it. Maybe the Sealine is still in the pipeline.
Don't forget you still need to have an International Certificate of Competancy or better qualification. You will be asked to show it if you are anywhere near the Med.
Cheers

Thanks for the plug John, but steady on we don't want too many people to know what we do up the river!!

Well i have probably lost that one now as i ummed and arred so much , was meant to give him a quick yes or no and have left it as couldnt be sure what the heck to do
I started off with all things planned but as usual in life the best laid plans etc ..
So now the whole where to go issue is all wide open again !!
My requirements are ;
On or very near the sea
Privacy in the villa
Safe and quiet area
Pool
Boat mooring
Not to far from a few local shops ,with a Big proper shopping centre within a hour drive away ..
On the subject of boats a very interesting thing cropped up whilst looking into them over here !! But that will be addressed on a new thread .
Ps; Is that International Certificate of Competancy easy to get ??
