I think you're right bobd, having spent the evening reading everything I could find on the subject. Happily we're going to Castellon, which has very few flights each day, and we will be the only incoming flight that evening, although there's only a 30 minute turn around for the return flight, so that'll be 2 plane loads of passengers to be processed. Let's hope the returning passengers do indeed arrive 3 hours early and have all gone through by the time we arrive ! (Well, I can hope)

The delays are at the Schengen airports, not the UK ones.
It's a bit tricky to grasp at first.....

I suppose the requirement to arrive early at the airports is nothing to do with the new owners who want you to be there early so that you spend more money. Like the change that requires you to walk through the duty free (HAA!!) before you can enter the terminal.
