Now they've issued a denial.
The council has since clarified its decision. It will only review a study by the Ministry of Civil Service (MCS) that recommended changing the weekend to bring the kingdom into line with the GCC and closer to the same weekend as the rest of the world.

Officially announced yesterday that the Saudi weekend will change to Friday & Saturday effective from this weekend - Causeway will be interesting for the next couple of weeks in the run up to the Comedy Month. Reckon a 3 day weekend looming for some of us living in Bahrain, working in KSA.
