If your in trouble they dont help, they dont do passports anymore, the open hours make it one of the best jobs going and my favourite aspect......

when the shit hits the fan and you actually need them they close the embassy and the wankers are the fist on a plane out, once back in the uk they will then tell you the embassy has closed.

**** you British Embassys and **** all your usless bastard staff.

about as much use as a chocoltae fire guard the lot of em.

FFS
I find they're particularly good at taking a photocopy of a certificate, stamping it, scribbling on it, then charging an arm, a leg and a bloody foot for something that's taken them a few seconds to do.

Complete bunch of useless gits - as proven with the current Bahrain situation.

My Manager of the building has just come up to my apartment.......bless I can never understand him on the phone he is saying that now shots echoing in Sitra, Salmabad, Mameer and Aa'li now under attack by police in uniform and civilian clothing shooting heavily, helicopters firing tear gas, and using live rounds and rubber bullets, I think he must have a friend in CNN or something is anyone hearing these rumours!!!
My son is getting for the first time very nervous, so he has now put X Box Live on shooting people to make him relax a bit

Oh surprise...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-12745021

Iran - the main Shia power in the Gulf - has said that the arrival of the foreign troops is an "interference".

"The presence of foreign forces and interference in Bahrain's internal affairs is unacceptable and will further complicate the issue," Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said.

"The people of Bahrain have demands, which are legitimate and are being expressed peacefully," he said.

"Any violence in response to these legitimate demands should be stopped."

Hypocrisy much?

That's it.............

I've been meaning for some time to write my book ["Our Man In Hiding"?] about how British Embassy staff are totally useless in all situations, including non-emergency ones, and this has finally made up my mind for me.

I'm starting to collect stories as of now (I've got plenty from Riyadh) so anything that I can use, and is verifiable, please PM me your e-mail address. All are guaranteed anonymity.

Still unsure on this one. I'll think I'll stay whatever happens (even in KSA if it gets really bad!) but should I send the wife and kids home? Should Ronnie Biggs do another runner?

The British Embassy in the UAE got the name of my son wrong on his birth certificate which remains to this day. Even the Emiratis didn't **** that up, it was written in big capital letters for them....

Its always a difficult decision and my wife and I had a set of critieria that we assessed against daily (anal I know but it helps to be objective and its part of my normal job) Yesterday the criteria for evac was exceeded by mid afternoon and she left Bahrain that night for the UK

I wouldnt try and get out tonight as its going to be very hairy out there. Tomorrow daytime yes but tonight no way. What was interesting is that KLM were charging 500bhd for wife a little one at 0800 yesterday and when we booked at 1500 it had dropped to 319 bhd so our criteria saved us a few dinars as well
