so we're just in from having our medicals done.
very pleasant experience which took about 45 mins for the two of us.

we now have to wait 30 days and send off our passports!!

haven't heard of anyone else doing it this way but i'm not complaining!!

the countdown is really on for us now!!

We had a combined medicals and passport request letter, too. At least, you know that they have probably finished their background checks on you.

How nice that your medicals were a 'pleasant experience'! Sounds to me as if all the background checks have already been done by CHC and that pending the outcome of the medicals.......you'll get shiny new visas in your passports before the end of March. Brilliant.

I had heard that they usually do not send you for medicals until they are sure that they are going to accept you subject of course to the outcome of the medicals. So based on that..I think they will already have done all the background checks.

yeah in theory we should have our visas in 45 days time.

we have flights booked for may 19th for us and the dog.

Best to book an aisle seat for the dog!

Don't be rotten let the dog have a window seat so he/she can enjoy the view

But he/she will disturb everyone when he/she wants to go for a "walk"!!

Also how the hell will you get the dogs headphones to stop on his head during the in flight movie

How come then, some people are not asked to send their passports 30 days after the medicals and some are? I know that generally if you get a medical request then you're in.....pending medical results, but not everyone seems to be sent that instruction to send in passports within a certain period after medicals.

I wondered if they send you for medicals after they've checked eligibility but continue to do background checks if one has had numerous addresses and/or jobs......
