Is there need for Care workers in NZ?

There certainly lots of health jobs out there - we were at a NZ expo in Manchester and stall holders for various health boards were asking people passing 'you are not nurses are you?'
I have experience in family support with a charity and am hoping this shortage is also reflected in other areas of health and social care.
