Default HELP - Still Waiting outcome since Oct 07 !

I haven't been on here for a while and am hoping someone will be able to help.

We submitted our ITA the end of October (with a job offer to start this month). We had to supply an additional medical report (for one of our sons) which has gone to NZ to be assessed. We are still waiting to hear what's happening and I have sent numerous emails to our CO asking if there is any progress but there is no feedback. Is there anyone I can call at NZIS, someone in a more senior position than our CO, is it possible to get in touch with the medical assessors in NZ, is there anything I can do to get an answer from someone/anyone???!!!!! We just need a clue as to what's happening, that's all. Not a lot to ask is it, (or is it?). I know there are lots of you who are waiting (and waiting) and we all have to be patient, but maybe someone has gone through this and come out with a happy ending - I'd love to hear it!!

Thanks in advance!
Gail

Hi Gail5.

I'm going to move this temporarily into the main forum so more people will see it. Someone may be able to give you the help you need.

The only number I have for NZIS is for the London office but it is the premium line.

09069 100 100

There is a fax number 0044 20 7973 0370, although these contact numbers are 4 years old now.

Your CO will have a supervisor.

Hi Bevs,

Thanks for that. I have the phone no. of my CO but every time I call it's on answerphone. I actually have another no. for the NZIS - 01344 716199 - where you don't get charged £1 per minute!!!!! So anyone who has been calling the 090 no. can now save a little!

We got an email today telling us we have a 'change of status' but I'm not sure what that means. Again I tried to call our CO to get an explanation but no answer, I emailed her but no answer so I'll try again tomorrow. It said we should also be getting a letter in the post so hopefully that will be clearer as to what's happening.

Anyway thanks again and I'll keep you posted.

Flip. How frustrating.

If you did your EOI application online in the first instance , I think you can log on to see what your current status is.

i Gail, I think that your medical is taking far too long. The not so good thing about sending an email is your case worker can deny ever receiving it. What you should do is send her a letter with your EOI number on it and send it by special delivery. Your case worker also has a supervisor above her whom she has to answer to, so if I was you I would find out the name of the supervisor and put a copy of the letter to her as well and on top of that you need to find out what area you intend to move to if you where to move to NZ [Just pick some where on the map] and find out who the local MP and let them know that you will be writing a letter to the MP and Helen Clark. Then actually write to the MP for added weight. Make sure that you put your EOI case worker name and supervisor name in the letter advising them that you have written to the local MP. If you have a skill on the long term shortage list it will add some wait to your case to quote this and the fact that they are preventing you from working ect... I am sharing this with you because I know off someone who went through.
What happens is if NZI find something wrong with meds they send it to Wellington to one of their specialist. The specialist may come in once a month and he as a set time to look through various medical reports ect, if he finds something he will put it on another pile. Now that pile can site on his desk until someone finally come along and sends it back to your case manager [London]. Your case manager who's dealing with hundreds of applicants each year puts you on a pile of other reports that may need further info. Basicly the "statue" means that someone is dealing with your case and there is possibly a question mark. I know this to be true because i received this info from a friend who is a NZ immigration Lawyer . So if i was you get the letter out because someone needs a kick up the bum!! If the medical comes back with something else don't give up. I have met soo many people who have had problems with their medical but got through the system [you just know what to do]. Hope you can make sense of what I said, must go very tired had a long day at the office hence bad writing brain shutting down

We had a similar problem with our eldest son, but we had a direct contact number for our CO E-mails don't work, try direct contact. We spoke very nicely to her and she told us exactly what was needed. If you know what the medical problem is, visit your GP and get him to write a written report on how it will impact on life, if it will impact at all. Ours was a slighly raised cholesterol level. It was sorted within 2 weeks with the direct approach and of course politeness

Hi Nick,

The panic/worry is over, we have now received our letter of approval!!!!!!!!!!! Can't believe it - even though we were expecting to hear (one way or the other) we're still shocked to hear at all, it's been that long!

Just got to sell the house then we are on our way so a different kind of worry/panic to cope with now but it's the positive type!

Please keep in touch, I'd love to know how you're getting on/where you're up to, etc. If you think I can help with anything just ask away.

Lotsa luck

Gail
