Might be, but not in our case at least. We have 3 school-age kids, filed in late Jan, interview on Thursday - but school in our area started yesterday. Ho hum. Not that the kids are too upset, of course!

Hello, I have my interview in a few days time at 8.30, what time should I turn up to the embassy? From experience how long does the interview process take?

His appointment was at 08.00. I don't know what time he was let in, I think around 07.30 maybe. I know he paid for the visa at around 08.30 and was out of the embassy at 09.00. But he was the first immigrant visa applicant so that helped.
The later it gets, the more people that are there.

I just hope it doesn't rain - wouldn't fancy queuing in the rain
!!!Good luck & let us know how it went
PS: The whole process obviously takes a lot longer than 5-10 minutes!! Some people report being there for hours and hours, another good reason to get there early!!!

Chance to enjoy a good book.
EDIT: Sorry I'm an idiot. I've just realised that you mean 'the whole process' as opposed to 'the interview process'.

Wouldn't it be nice if all it took was 5-10 minutes......

Yes Ian is right, only wanted to know how long the interview is, I am fully expecting I am going to have to wait around half of the day in the embassy, oh well

Quick question that I just had a panic about.
Does my husband need to fill out the VWP ESTA form if he has a visa? Logic would say he doesn't but I don't have much experience with the ESTA thing, only did it once before there was a fee.
