Any ideas on the above? Any nice places anyone knows of which do a good lunch or dinner?

The Zoo. It is PACKED on Xmas day - a real, real popular meet up spot for family and friends.
Of course, you gotta bring your own food, but the location is perfect.

I presume you mean CBD? If so, I would try any of the big hotels eg Crown, Hyatt, Langham, etc.
