Sally you are partially correct, I was born and raised in Renaca Chile for the first 12 years of my life, my formal education began at " The Mackay school " run by tough as nails & sadistic Brit teachers mind you ! My Parents where firstborn children of Saffa & Brit immigrants who worked & lived in Vina Del Mar / Valparaiso, Chile. My family left Chile in ' 72 due to the changing political atmosphere. American relatives sponsored our move to the USA, We arrived with just our suitcases and some family photos and a few $$$.. The rest we left to hope & prayer.... I myself have lived for several years overseas as an Expat in several countries and have enjoyed most but not all of the experiences, It was while in Amanzimtoti, South Africa spending a few weeks with my Uncle & his Family for the December holidays, I met my beautiful British wife who hails from Bexelyheath, Kent. We both love our lives here in the USA and could never imagine going back on a permanent basis,, Vacations sure !!.... Sorry for the long winded explanation .. enjoy the day !!

But it is the constant droning on and on by the same people that gets rather tiresome.. There are other Threads dealing with unhappiness in the USA, actually many, many threads about it. I simply suggested venting on those threads before spewing negativity on a thread that is simply dazzling with enthusiasm and from what I can see, the OP is not alone in her assessment.
Your somewhat snippy post kind of proves my entire point...
BTW, I sincerely meant it when I said for you to enjoy your day, you may feel free to take it anyway you choose though, The offer still stands as far as I am concerned...Enjoy !

With no intention of coming off as a horses ass, please point out where I said in any of my post that everybody has to love everything about the USA. If you take the time to re- read what it was I was actually moaning about you will discover several things. #1 At the time of my reading the post, it seems the thread was in the process of being merged, as there where 2 going on. The thread I had initially stumbled across was in " The Trailer park " and after the initial post by the OP, it was met with criticism and comments about seeing double etc, I was not the #16 poster like I was on this thread, but like the 5th or 6th at the time in " the Trailer park " That itself was clarified by Burns & Maeuxena, I was totally unaware of the positive comments made on the other thread until I investigated it for myself and duly apologized to any and all for my previous rant. You and I have had several run ins with each other over time, I have read your post and can see that you are one of the unhappy ones who live in L.A. I have no issue by the way if people complain,

I don't want any run-ins with you and I was sincere about wishing you a good day although it can look cheesy in print. I personally never felt the need to go on a site for ex-pats when I lived in Britain so I just sometimes wonder where the need to 'correct' us comes from, but each to his own.
I truly feel the OP was just over enthusiastic and perhaps after reading quite a few threads here on BE, was under the impression that many Brits where indeed unhappy as a whole whilst living, working, and just being here in general ? It is an easy mistake to make I must say if one is relying on this forum in itself as sole form of information... I still post occasionally on several forums in 2 countries, I have made some great friends during my journey around this blue marble, who knows, I might be back !!..

Thank you for your reply .

I don't want to flog a dead horse here, but I've scanned every post in this thread a couple of times in sheer puzzlement. I don't see anyone here "droning on" and nor do I see anyone "spewing negativity." All is see is a number of different people (including you and the original poster) expressing their own opinions and perspectives, in a manner (more or less) respectful of other posters....
I will leave it at that ...

I sincerely apologize about mis-reading into the wishing me a good day, I thought you where being snarky and chastising me for my previous post about the negativity. Sugarmomma also suggested the same about " The correcting ".

I think sally was suggesting in one of her posts that you had mentioned that some of the countries you lived were not always good experiences., which may help you understand why a lot of posters have their "whingers"
It's nice to hear good stories. No-one would deny that, I think people can feel a bit defensive when a poster might say if you do this, this and this then you can't fail and all will be hunky dory. As I said one size doesn't fit all..

Have a super weekend though....
