I am not sure but i think you get a new WP when you are nominated, or you can get new WP coz you are nominated. Failing that you send of to Albertville for an extension of your existing WP costs $150
Best is to speak to to PNP people. Great help arent i
Who you driving for ?? i thought you were in SK

If you've been nominated get them folk to write you a letter of support. No lmo needed that way.
Probably best to take it to the boarder, and get a new WP.
i think anyway.

Curt is right. They will issue you with a letter of support and you will probably be allowed to collect it by hand to save time from Winnipeg. I don't know the person in charge any more, but they were all fair enough folks to deal with. If you call them they will get it written and tell you when you can collect it.

You should be able to get the new TWP at the border without trouble. You will be wise to take all your work related stuff with you (contract, etc) and they will generally accept payment with your debit card. I would advise you to go to Emerson and stop at Canadian Customs to make sure they are prepared to do it, and they will make you go into the US so you may as well go to Pembina and get a cup of coffee, then come back. Make sure, if you do not already have this, that you have an I94 or the $6 USD to pay for one. They may let you get away with a refusal, or they may insist that you get a refusal and turn straight around at the flagpole. If they do, the refusal does not affect you in the future, even though they could be funny, and you will not have to declare it on entering the USA.

Try to choose a day and time when it isn't busy as hell. They will send you inside and you will have to wait so the quieter the better. Yes, I have had to do this, although I did mine at the SK borber at North Portal. My PR was done at Emerson and that was done on a refusal of entry.

Portal is a SK border so no good for Manitoba WP, and Bossevain is just a little tin pot border, but if you do go down there, pop into see Diane & David @ Steads Farm Surplies Hwy #10 run by a very nice northern ecky thump couple http://www.steadsfarmsupply.com/

As BTD said, take all your relevant paperwork to EMERSON along with 6 US dollars per adult, choose a quiet time maybe early Sunday morning, and the process will be hassle free.

The WP is Fedral, not Provincial. That said, it is better to get it doen in the Province you work in as you are less likely to be hassled.

One thing I forgot. Make sure you list all your dependants properly on the form, and make sure they are all with you. They have visitors visas which also need to be replaced. We fell foul of that, well almost, when Puff was in the UK getting her treatment and I renewed the WP.. They wanted $75 each to add them afterwards, but the IO in Winnipeg very kindly issued them on their return to Canada anyway.
