Funnily enough one of the best views I had in Spain was from an apartment in Barcelona. I know a lot will not like urban environments, but this was incredible - looking towards the Med, regular planes making their descent towards the airport, and various landmarks like the Sagrada Familia and the Olympic hill in view. I reckon the apartments on the other side of that building would sell for 15% less as they missed out! I think it's hard to get a good view if you're located in a city, as other buildings often get in your way. Maybe the Albarricin in Granada (overlooking the Alhambra opposite) would be a good exception.

To be more serious I had a place in Tenerife which I never dreamed I would ever leave.
Views of snow capped Teide,the harbour and local village,ferries,fishing boats and in the far distance at various times the islands of La Palma,El Hierro,and La Gomera.
Absolutely stunning.
However after almost ten year it wore off just a little and I felt it was time for a change,.....flights got much more pricey and difficult..... and last but not least, building was about to begin right in front of me, taking out a lot, but not all, of the view,.....so in the end the decision was easy.

I don't have much of a view where I live, in the centre of the city, but where I work I have a fantastic view of the coast, right across to Málaga and the sierra nevada. I never get sick of it. When I'm having one of those days, a quick glance out of the window reminds me that life is pretty good.

Maybe, at the end of the day, I have to admit that I prefer looking at people rather than stunning scenery, and I hope it doesn't make me a bad person. I was in a Russian bar this afternoon, honest, with my wife, and admired the Rusa expertly dispensing drinks to the varied international clientele.

She was a cuddly woman with a friendly smile and the place was packed while adjoining English bars were empty. The views outside were of a vandalized kids swing park and lots of graffiti, but the ambiance was catching, and the cuddly Rusa had a bum you could die for.
