Mawson Lakes looks alright on the surface. I also hear its nice. ! things is though (not really related) you might struggle to get the internet. Telstra have wired that whole estate up really funny, so you cant get ADSL 2 in alot of areas. So if you want the net get the current telephone number of the property and get a test done with a ISP....like adam internet or internode.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all your advice as it really does help.
I have time to do some more research as we won't be over until next year, but from what you've said Mawson Lakes seems good (apart from the primary school - so will look into others nearby).
Thanks again
Kx

My total personal opinion on Mawson Lakes is that the styles of houses etc there are great but SOOOOO close to one another, we have done a few jobs there and on one house the roofs were more or less touching, gorgeous house with gorgeous windows overlooking a brick wall that was their neighbours!! Not my idea of nice, price wise its expensive for what you get!! But the actual set up and what they are trying to achieve there I think is a good concept!! Would I actually live there No, we are in Greenwith and personally feel it has so much more to offer!!
As mentioned the school has a really bad reputation have a couple of friend who have BOTH moved their kids from the school!

Im an Aussie in Adelaide.
Mawson Lakes is a nice new development. I have some friends that live there and say it is very peaceful.
About 20min by train into the CBD for the nightlife etc. Prob cost about $30 for a taxi from the CBD to there i would guess.
Not sure if this is allowed, but here is a thread specifically on SOuth Aus:
