Well done you. Really chuffed even tho' we dont know each other. My OH has spoken to O'Neill a couple of times and says he is a really nice chap. Will sign on to the prep site once we hear from the paper sift. Hopefully soon. Do they actually ring to say you've got through or do we have to rely on the fantastic support of the british postie.
Again best of luck for you.

Hi Dawn,
I have followed your progress on this site and wandered if you'd heard anything?
We are flying out for Gaz to do the tests on the 18th October, with our daughters (Lauren 9 & Katie 7)
I know how you feel we waited quite a while for the dates too!!
Sure it won't be too long now-keep your chin up

P.s-we have recieved the police exam book from Tina and John and will pass it on to whoever needs it when we return

Hi,
I am new to this site, just thought i might be able to gleam some hope from you. I feel so deflated. I first sat my written tests Oct 2006, passed and then returned in January with my family to sit the rest of the tests and complete the pare test.
I passed all the test except the PARE, so i returned to Calgary again in MAY. This time i completed the PARE but not in the specified time limit. I am now returning again for two weeks to do the pare again but have been told in the last couple of days that i might need to re-do the psyc testing. OMG!! I am struggling with it all. I love Calgary and really want to come and work here , i have been in Kent police for nearly 5 years.
I am a woman, have any other women struggled like me.

Maria - Hi and welcome to BE and to the madness that is "CPS Application Syndrome"
Don't be too hard on yourself - unfortunately many of the females fail the PARE a few times, both the 'locals' and UK applicants. I don't think a British female has got through yet so you could be the first. Is it the push-pull thing that you struggle with? - that's the common factor. Is it time to bulk up girl and eat 6 raw eggs a day ?
Three PARE's is common.
Don't know what to suggest really, except keep at it. You said you were out of time on the last one - so you have completed it OK but just need to address the speed. Was it one particular area that killed it for you, or a bit of everything. At least you now know what to expect.
And I don't know why you would need to do a Psych test again? Have they said why - you either pass or fail I believe. Do they think you might have got so stressed that you have degenerated into a life of drugs and crime on the side?
Hubby has 3 females on his course, they are all fit girls, but still struggle with a couple of elements of the fitness. I'm not one to advocate different tests for different sexes necessarily - but sometimes, just sometimes, a fit 9 stone female will struggle matching a fit 14 stone bloke. Just nature, innit! (Not that I think I was ever a fit 9 stone
)
It's the cost of returning that would bug me
Others will be along in a minute to cheer you on - very good luck, keep your chin up and keep us posted. We're rooting for you

We are also in the process and finding it very hard going - and that is just the waiting bit!!
Congratulations for passing all that you have so far, and we will keep our fingers crossed for your next visit.
Good luck

I have been told that CPS may be coming to the UK before Christmas, the decision to be made in the next week. They will only be doing the written tests at the Canadian Embassy in London so you still have to travel to do the PARE and the polygraph, but its a start. They have 90 Brit applicants on their books at the moment
