Thanks all for your views. We are currently living in a town in S Cornwall, which has its fair share of drunks and stonies, oh and people that smell!!!. Having just been there, we can appreciate the current issues regarding the aborignal people and the flies.....
But putting the negatives to one side, it still has many great things going for it, so it seems.... It does appear to be a transient town... but we are planning on being there a couple of years then moving on to Queensland.

When are you moving? I'll be there in June for a week this year. If you're going after that and want me to try to find some things out, then just ask and I'll do my best

Hated it so much in Banbury we ended up in Sydney. Ah well - sorry - didn't want to hijack the thread. Best of luck whatever you decide.

shame you don't have SBS- they have a prog tonight on the Alice at 6pm called Living Black. the aboriginal elders are dicussing if it should become the first dry town to combat alcohol issues amongst their people.

But alcohol's only a minor problem in comparison to the petrol abuse there.
