Good luck. I'm sure it will be a great experience, and who knows, maybe the couple of years may extend itself

When are you moving? I'll be there in June for a week this year. If you're going after that and want me to try to find some things out, then just ask and I'll do my best

Bit of a difference, Looe to Alice Springs! Great part of the world Cornwall. Used to live in Torpoint until 98 then made the stupid decision to move to Banbury - A**hole of the Midlands. I must warn you that when I moved away from living by the sea, it took quite a bit of getting used to - didn't like it at all. Also missed Ivor Dewnies, but thats a different story.

Hated it so much in Banbury we ended up in Sydney. Ah well - sorry - didn't want to hijack the thread. Best of luck whatever you decide.

shame you don't have SBS- they have a prog tonight on the Alice at 6pm called Living Black. the aboriginal elders are dicussing if it should become the first dry town to combat alcohol issues amongst their people.

There's already a number of bars that won't serve Aboriginies. There's also a request by some of the Aboriginal elders that if tourists are asked to buy alcohol for Aboriginal people, they refuse.

But alcohol's only a minor problem in comparison to the petrol abuse there.
