This situation irritates me no end as I did a 4 year English JIB apprenticeship finishing with C&G in ordinary craft, advanced craft and ttechnicalcraft but still it is not recognised by the Scottish JIB or Aus !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A little bird told me to present qualification evidence, letters of reference outlining skills and experience from previous employers (TRA style ref letters) and discuss situation direct with member of the licencing board and might be pleasantly surprised. Can prove not an NVQ or private certificate should be more acceptable. Fingers crossed and all that! I am determined to get this sorted.
Vash - it is scary that anyone in the UK can pick up a spanner and call themselves a plumber and get away with it. It is strictly down to the consumer to check out the plumbers skill/experience/technical knowledge etc and most (good to excellent) plumbers are more than happy to supply this on request.
