I have no emotion about this new development what so ever. I hope the young women can digest this development, process it in a healthy way and move on with their lives in the best way possible.
I have no doubt that his incarceration was helping them move forward and this will set them back on their progress.

What we do know is this:
"You took 11 years of my life away and I have got it back. I spent 11 years in hell, now your hell is just beginning,†Michelle Knight said in court
Michelle saw that his imprisonment would be long and arduous, and his cutting that short by own hand will be a devastating blow to at least her.

Still, it's a bit of a shame that he didn't get to experience the joy of being someone else's reluctant girlfriend.

In this final act, Castro has managed to once again, take the perceived control away from the victims. Which will be a devastating blow to their recovery.

Not mine.....the wife's.....she goes out to lunch, and brings me her leftovers for lunch the next day. Ah, sweet
Well, to be fair, sometimes the leftovers she brings back are for the dog, so there is always a a little tension as she comes through the door, wondering which one of us is going to be in luck......

Back on topic....without knowing the ladies, personally I think it is impossible to say how they will handle it, and whether this will help or hinder their healing process. It could have a totally different effect on each of them. I am just very glad, as someone else mentioned earlier, that they are not being plastered all over the news....""after the break, we have the reaction from....."

Perhaps so, but it removes entirely from the picture his death at a future date, at which point the story would hit the headlines again and reopen psychological wounds that had been healing for many years. His death means the start of the future, there is no reason for Castro to ever be newsworthy again, so hopefully his victims can recover and put Castro behind them for ever.

Pulaski, I agree with you.
I hope the victims can digest this development, process in as healthy way as possible and move forward with rebuilding their lives.

I'm not a physiologist, and I don't know these victims personally, but they will just be getting used to the idea of a long incarceration for him (regardless of if they wanted him dead or not) and once again, their controller has taken away their vision of the future. He exerted his power over them again...... this time it will be the final time, but it will set back their healing process.
In the longer view, as Pulaski said, [I paraphrase] Better now than later.
I hope the victims digest this development, process in a healthy way and move forward with rebuilding their lives.

The point I'm trying to make is that when it comes to healing, and coming to terms with something, consistency is key. Regardless that the victims may have wished him dead, they had been set up to think he would have a long incarceration, and this change will a difficult transition, and an upsetting one, even if it is the preferred outcome for the victims.
