Why would you need to take a pushchair on board the aircraft? You can't use it during the flight! If they do let you take a travel cot and a pushchair onboard as hand luggage they will need to fit in the overhead lockers.

Singapore airlines has a pretty good page on their website detailing what you can and can't take on board, and what baggage allowances you get. If you have one way tickets and haven't validated your visas, you also get double baggage allowance (although we still struggled to get the weight of the bags low enough )

You can check the push-chair in as luggage but still keep it until the very last moment that you board the aircraft. Just let the check-in staff know about it.

It is also treated separately so no need to worry that it will eat up your luggage allowance. Speaking of this, do not have lots of kgs over your limit as SQ (Singapore Airlines) charge by the kilo for excess. In other words - not a good airline to play the luggage lottery with.

With a 10 mth daughter you should really make sure you get bassinet seats, not a bring-a-long travel cot which won't be of much use onboard. SQ can be a bit dodgy when flying with kids in a bassinet as they tend to flip on the seatbelt sign at the slightest ripple in the stratosphere, and that in turn causes the flight attendants to rush towards you at Usain Bolt's pace to ask you to remove your child from the bassinet.

For future reference also keep in mind that each airline has different bassinets, so different age/kg limits, different policies with regards to the seatbelt sign flicking on, etc. On the Europe to SIN route I have found that Lufthansa is probably the best choice in terms of big, proper bassinets (much higher kg limits) and a crew that is very helpful and won't bother you unless there is a real reason to act.

Brian, do you mean that you want to check the travel cot into the hold, so you have it with you to use in Australia, or that you want to use the travel cot on the plane?

Yeah, I must be missing something. I didn't think there's room for a travel cot on the plane and the airlines have those bassinet thingies for the people who want them and book them (we did it once, never again because nothing worse than having to keep pulling a just dozing off baby out of it when the seat belt sign goes on).

For travel cot...we checked our Pack n Play as one of our pieces of luggage. Doubled as bed and playpen until we got our rental and some furniture.

People have given you some valuable advice here and on other threads plus on other boards and facebook. How about coming back occasionally and offering some thanks. It's really starting to get on my nerves.
