Wow Rete, you don't do things by half do you
Makes my moaning about falling off my bike look silly now
Take it easy lady, do what the docs tell you to do and stay out of trouble

Thanks everyone. I'm listening to the doc and doing all I can to mend quickly. Be careful out there all, life can change in an instant.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Rete! So glad someone was watching over you that day!

Wow Rete, so glad you're on the mend!

I'm glad you're ok. New Yorkers get a bad rap. We really aren't all that bad!

Incredible! Glad people helped you and looked after you. I take that train regularly, and I always worry if I get pressured by the crowds to step too close to the edge of the platform.
This is the best advice. Now that you have the rod in that arm, you can work it hard. It will help it heal properly if you exercise to the point of pain. People don't realize that, and they want to go easy on the physiotherapy if it hurts--or worse, give it up completely. Don't do it!
Those initial PT exercises are SO important in regaining strength and agility in that arm--so keep at them! Good luck with your recovery!

Hope your recovery continues to go well now, and you're back to normal soon.

The PT is worrying me. I can deal with the pain. You have to do what you have to do if you want to return to some sense of normalcy. It has only been two weeks since the surgery so I know I can't do much with it right now as the elbow area is still a bit swollen. The shoulder is fine
.
PT starts on the 14th so one more week to go.

Just listen to what they tell you and if they are good therapists they will modify the exercise and movement to what is best for you. One day at a time honey..one day at a time

The important thing is to do the at home exercises they give you -- my guy said that so many people don't do them, which really lengthens the recovery. All the best, Rete, this too shall pass.
