Okay, who's gonna be first this year?
The duvet has gone back on the bed today and I swear I smelt a faint whiff of woodburner on the air earlier.

I had to leave someone's house tonight because they had the wood burner on and it was just way too hot!
I'm still sleeping with open windows, summer duvet and no PJ's, I do admit to putting a cardi on tonight though to walk home.

We've both resorted to socks the past couple of days when out of the sun & I see Mr BEVS is readying the big socks & fleece jobs for the chilly morning starts.
No hotties yet, though I've found me knee blanky for the evenings.

into my fluffy nightie last night. had heat pump on for an hour yesterday morning, for the kids benefit. We're hoping for a tax rebate as hubby only worked 6mths 2011-2012 and he has just said any that comes back can go into getting a heat pump for our bedroom (kids already have them in their rooms). Now where to look for a heat pump?

Gas fire (non eye-stingy and thermostat controlled type) has been on for the last few nights.
Neighbours wood burners sent up white smoke a couple of nights ago.
But then, it got to 32 here yesterday after a foggy start.

Look through the yellow pages for electricians who install heat pumps. That's what we did. Got some quotes from various companies, chose one and had two heatpumps installed. One upstairs which heats through vents in the ceiling (including the airing cupboard - oh yes). One downstairs that heats the dining room. Prior to this we paid a contractor to hang bifold doors in the kitchen doorways to keep the heat in the dining room. Door seem to be a radical idea to most kiwis.
You can buy heatpumps from D.I.Y. stores but as for installing them
It's a specialist installation as they use compression technology.

Hopes so Bev
Whilst I was at dog training class hubby and youngest did a bit of a shop for tea but he also bought a electric blanket
. never had one before so will see how that goes. Did ask him if it was instead of the heat pump but he assures me its just to get through until we do get one.
