No, and why would you joke about such things?
Its a survival kit in case an earthquake hits close to the population. Here are the recommended items. Personally I'd a add a nice bottle of brandy and some porno mags.

yes, got one from Canadian Red Cross. It's got the basic stuff like water tablets and collapsible water bags, wind up flashlight/radio, first aid kit, hazardous waste bags, and plastic sheeting.
We're supposed to fill it up with food etc but never get around to it.

Just been reading up a bit more on earthquakes. I've just eaten my previous words in the form of a big slice of humble pie.
It does seem thought that in the world of earthquake experts the jury is out on if a series of preceding quakes relieves stress and helps prevent a big one, or are simply a precursor to a big one on it's way. I guess it's all so deep it's impossible for any scientist to measure the stress, so they have to keep working by way of best guesses and past experience.
We'll gather a quake kit of sorts together when we move over for sure. I'm not joking about that either.

The famed hot springs of Haida Gwaii have gone dry, apparently a casualty of last week's major earthquake.
