If you are in the North Dr Dukles Hospital and Research Center, is fantastic, clean, not expensive, and he cares - he still correspondes with me. An Indian who does not just take your money, he cares.

In the South, there's a Dr. Elvis (I kid you not) who has a good reputation. In the event of needing a hospital, I think we'd head for the Apollo Victor in Margao.

Will hopefully not need either in the foreseeable

You mean the massive new government hospital, built at truly enormous cost (even by western standards) more or less completed, left empty for years, eventually equipped but still not put to use, warranties run out on the equipment, still no staff after (how many) years apart from lethargic broom pushers, but amazingly just before the elections suddenly described as operational with staff from the immensely unhygenic, run down and obsolete existing Asilo in Mapusa being dragged kicking and screaming to the still empty and decaying "new" hospital.............

Oh yes, that one?

Why would any "expat" who has followed the protracted reports over the last 5 plus years of this typical Goan tale of corruption and political misappropriation wish to entrust their health/life to what is still basically a token gesture towards being "open for business"????

Again, Shri Parrikar. you live in Mapusa................ how can you live with this disgrace?
