Re: I don't want that Visa Paywave thingy - is there a bank that doesn't have it?

That's my concern. When I spoke to ANZ, the guy said "It's not a problem if you report it promptly", but define "promptly". What if you don't notice?

Re: I don't want that Visa Paywave thingy - is there a bank that doesn't have it?

I'm presuming Customer Services would have told me if I could change the limit on it, but I'll email to ask.

I don't have a problem with ME not using a PIN, I just think if I lost my card it gives...

I don't want that Visa Paywave thingy - is there a bank that doesn't have it?

My ANZ card expired, so was activating the new one and noticed it had this. I told them I didn't want it as I don't find putting in a PIN number terribly onerous and it's more secure. Apparently if I...

Re: Bond/security deposit for campervan rental

We hired a KEA last year and I'm fairly sure the bond wasn't debited upfront.

Re: Holiday Let, Perth

We used to rent a nice apartment in Quinns, if that's not too far out. Look for The White House on stayz.com.au.

Re: Be careful, snakes are on the move

Sorry to hear that, Jacqui, and thanks for the warning.

And on the subject of things that are poisonous to cats - poinsettias (although I never knew that about lillies.)

Re: Dog information required

Thanks so much, everyone. Lots of food for thought.

I don't really want a dog (as opposed to really don't want one) and husband is actually the same (stupid comment came as they were being licked...

Re: Dog information required

I might not have to actually kill him myself - daft bugger was chasing Mini round the house in his reading glasses, tripped over the sofa, and has a big bash on his head ...

Re: Dog information required

In our case little Johnnie is adopted, which makes it even more important that we think carefully - giving animals back because it's no longer convenient is not a message we want to be sending.

Re: Dog information required

Yeah, well one of my reasons for not wanting one is the cost, but the life insurance would sort that out.

To be fair to him (grrhhh!) he's really sorry and feeling very guilty at upsetting Mini;...

Re: Dog information required

This is why he is my soon-to-be-late husband!

We did think we'd get a dog when we moved here but went off the idea. We are just thinking about it at the moment and will definitely not be rushing...

Dog information required

My soon-to-be-late-husband ;) made the mistake of asking Mini (6.5) "would you like a dog?"

So all week we've had tears etc. about getting a dog. We've not said yes yet, but we've said we'll give...

Re: contenets insurance how do they work help?

I'm with Suncorp too and have portable bundles cover (or something like that). It includes $x amount for computers, $y for CDs, $z for DVDs ( as specified by me) but nothing is listed separately.

Re: Singapore stopover - help running out of time

Yes but people build a whole holiday around it, so it gets busy either side.

Re: Singapore stopover - help running out of time

We used to live in Singapore, and my husband goes back frequently on business. He generally stays at Hotel Ibis on Bencoolen Street to save his company money, and he wouldn't if it wasn't fine....

Re: To pool or not to pool, that is the question

Thanks for all the responses guys (although still can't decide!)

$35k was a rough estimate for everything, including landscaping, heating, fence etc. And the space is so awkward that we'd have to...

To pool or not to pool, that is the question

We have a small oddly-shaped back garden that needs "something" doing to it - the lawn is crap and has a large, round dead patch where we had a big paddling pool last year.

So we're vaguely...

Re: Breakdown cover -towing long distances

Hmmn, thanks.

Breakdown cover -towing long distances

A friend of mine had a bill of several thousands when her huge 4WD and caravan needed to be towed from Margaret River back to Perth. We have RAC cover, but it's due for renewal and I've noticed that...

Re: shipping packed by company and packed by owner help

When I lived in Singapore there were lots of stories of stuff that melted en route because the container wasn't refrigerated.

Do you know if yours is?
