Re: Job

No worries, not sure what the Oil & Gas game is like over here, I was an Oil & Gas drafter for years in the UK, served my time on the Tees at Kvearner. Moved to structural nut & bolt stuff in 2000...

Re: Ato tax debt and moving back to the uk

Re: Ato tax debt and moving back to the uk

This post just got me thinking, (as I've worked for a few shonkies that have gone to the wall over the years). Hypothetically speaking, you get your payslip every week/month and receive your net pay...

Re: Specialist required - UK/Aus/NZ visas, pensions and tax affairs.

They've been over almost every year for a month or so at a time, but they would have entered on their NZ passports, and as such, would have got an SCV visa automatically as they entered.

As I say...

Re: Specialist required - UK/Aus/NZ visas, pensions and tax affairs.

Thought I'd post up my latest findings, in-case anyone else ends up with a similar situation and looking for information.

After a few solid days of Googling, I'd pretty much concluded that:-

Re: Specialist required - UK/Aus/NZ visas, pensions and tax affairs.

Yes, thanks Pollyana. I'll be contacting Go Matilda soon. When we moved over here I did our PR (136) visa applications myself, but I wouldn't go near the RRV ones now. Reading around them it's just...

Re: Specialist required - UK/Aus/NZ visas, pensions and tax affairs.

Thanks all, it is indeed very confusing, (at least the trying to work out the amount of Australian pension anyway, regardless of eligibility).

The only thing that appears cut and dry is that IF...

Re: Any NZ pensioners on here that are living in Australia?

The part I was referring to was "It is perfectly clear if you read the official NZ website as I did yesterday. I think maybe you just don't want to believe it...?
"

That's the problem, (going...

Re: Any NZ pensioners on here that are living in Australia?

Why the attitude?

I have concluded that based on a mountain of reading over the last few days. This link provides a bit more info on it...

Re: Any NZ pensioners on here that are living in Australia?

I don't think qualifying is the issues, from what Ive read, if you are already getting an NZ pension then you'd qualify for an Australian one.

Its the means testing that is confusing, and it's...

Re: Specialist required - UK/Aus/NZ visas, pensions and tax affairs.

They did, but Mr. Maxwell took it to the bottom of the ocean with him. Since then they went into business, did well with the first business and had a shocking time with their second, almost sending...

Re: Specialist required - UK/Aus/NZ visas, pensions and tax affairs.

Any NZ pensioners on here that are living in Australia?

Briefly, my partners parents are UK born NZ citizens, (obtained after 2001).

They currently reside in NZ and receiver a full NZ state pension.

They want to move to Australia but...

Re: Specialist required - UK/Aus/NZ visas, pensions and tax affairs.

Bermudashorts - Thanks

It seems that a New Zealander in Australia effectively gets twp pensions.

The Australian one is means tested.

The NZ one is not, but CANNOT be more than the equivalent...

Re: Specialist required - UK/Aus/NZ visas, pensions and tax affairs.

Thanks for the replies.

Bermudashorts - that's right, I completely forgotten that the Australian Age pension was means tested. This may all be a moot point, I ran the calculators and they would be...

Re: Cycling Info/Websites

Sorry, I should have clarified for parts rather than whole bikes, (although I did get my last bike from Wiggle and it was still 25% cheaper than Aus even AFTER I paid freight and customs duty on it)....
