and from a USD/GBP perspective it's good that the dollar has fallen a little.

I wish I knew the answer. The exchange rate has not really moved for 18 months and the Brexit negotiations are not going that well IMO. However I think a hard Brexit may have already been factored...

The 8% fall in the dollar this year has helped a bit. I am surprised commodities, such as oil, have not increased more.

Both the US and the UK are taking actions which are resulting in the devaluation of both currencies. Hence my theory on why the GBP/USD exchange rate probably won't change much over the next 2 years...

Considering the mess the Government is in, the pound has hardly moved. Compare this with Brexit , where it fell over 10%.

Averages can sometimes be misleading, for example , Warren Buffet walks into a room of pre-schoolers. Everyone in that room is a millionaire on average. The economic and political climate has changed...

But you forget, a lot of things are still priced at when the dollar was $2 to £. Legoland was £32 a day, in CA it is $80 a day.

Compared to a year ago, the exchange rate is much better.

Think of the extra Monster Munch you'll be able to buy.

It's stable at $1.27 ish. I believe it will hang around this rate for the next few years. I don't see much changing with the current Government.

and if you had asked someone in 1980 if zero or negative interest rates would cause deflation, I'm sure most would have looked at you as if you were crazy, you can't have negative interest rates.

Now below 1.199 today, still going down. It makes it easier to move back to the UK if I ever decide to by making house prices cheaper.

Just thought I'd checkup where sterling was in the Big Mac index, Britain is still above South Korea which is good.
