Chargers are just getting faster. EVs certainly fill a gap in the market. I go to the gas station about 4 times a year now. Messes up my grocery store gas rebates.

My 7000lb Pacifica says it gets around 70 mpg, but that because 90% of the driving is done on electric only. Has been great for the school runs , gets up to 38 miles on a full charge, then I have gas...

Cars like the Tesla, Chevy Bolt, have the option for one pedal driving. The regen brakes will bring the car to a halt and allows you to drive using a single pedal. Down for go, up for stop.

I used to get through a tank every 2 weeks, now its down to 2 tanks a year. Not sure if I need fuel stabilizer for the car.

Looked at getting a leaf, but the insurance was $1200 , which is a lot...

Maybe back in the day. There is maybe a 10% difference in cost, but you probably get 10% better fuel economy in a modern day automatic, even more in a CVT. There work perfectly well, in small cars....
