I checked with our insurance company today to see if we'd get a discount if we bought a large dog; they tried hard not to laugh, but said they didn't class dogs as burglar alarms, so No, no discount....

Never heard of that one! I've never been asked if I have a dog, big or small; discounts usually depend on where you live, what type of alarm (if any), number of rooms, if it's a gated community,...
