As far as I know in England and Wales the law still requires a "collective act of worship" though I believe it is still ignored by many schools.

In schools it seems to vary. Still common in many from anecdote, but the two schools I know well - one does it weekly the other never.

One should chose to be respectful when appropriate. but in my opinion its downright disrespectful for members of a parent teacher association to have a pledge at the start of a meeting. I'd sit and...
