Re: British Passports when in Australia

I had the Aus Passport pages copied but forgot to include them for three passports. New British passports arrived with no issue. This was in the last month.

Re: British Passports when in Australia

That would be awesome. Do I panic anyway and get the copies sent off or do I hope if they need them they'll contact me rather than pocketing $300+ and telling me to do it all again?

Re: British Passports when in Australia

Yes. Can't believe I forgot to do them, I got them out ready to copy when I was going through the checklist but had a brain fart obviously!

Re: British Passports when in Australia

I've cocked up. Completely forgot to copy our Aus Passports and sent the declaration etc off yesterday. Does anyone know if they'll automatically refuse the application or if they'll ask for them? ...

Re: British Passports when in Australia

I would renew them. If they expired 10 years ago or more it becomes more involved to renew them. If you're inside that window do them before that date. I'm not concerned about Brexit, if I need to...

Re: British Passports when in Australia

Sigh, I'm being dumb. Finally getting round to renewing three passports. Two normal (lol) adults and one First time adult. I'm doing them all together so I'm only paying once but got half way...

Re: British Passports when in Australia

From the website is says 'Renewing a child passport

Fill in sections 1, 2, 3, 4, and 9. Your child needs to sign section 6 if they’re 12 or over. If your child is 11 or under or can’t be...

Re: British Passports when in Australia

Asking general questions to a Passport Office/Embassy/High Commission etc is never going to get back anything other than a very general possibly unhelpful reply. They've got better things to do than...

Re: British Passports when in Australia

Pretty sure the last time I renewed mine I didn't have it countersigned. A fair few years ago mind so my brain could be playing tricks on me.

Re: British Passports when in Australia

I thought you couldn't renew a passport unless there was 9 months or less life left in it (ignoring the lost/stolen ones). Fairly sure you can't renew one that has 2 years left. Maybe things have...

Re: British Passports when in Australia

Depends on who delivers it tbh. One may stick it in the post box regardless of it saying it needs signing for and someone else may leave a card. Someone else may not even walk up the path to see if...

Re: British Passports when in Australia

I've used different JPs for different passports. None of them know us. No issue whatsoever.

Re: British Passports when in Australia

Yes a JP is fine, just remember to take old passport, driving licence etc etc so they know you are you.

Re: British Passports when in Australia

Not sure about the Aus Post thing, never heard that before but if you pull up the required dimensions for the UK passport pic and give them to the place taking the photo they should have no problem...

Re: British Passports when in Australia

I'm fairly sure if you just take photocopies of the Aus Passport used pages and get them certified and then say you can't send the original as you need it for travel purposes there's damn all the UKP...

Re: British Passports when in Australia

Unless it's changed, both countries have different criteria for the photos so one won't work for the other. Same the world over, the 'rules' some countries have are bizarre. Not sure how they can...
