it can depend on the type of house you live in
we are lucky we have a smaller room we use in the winter and it has a lot of south facing windows - lots of passive heat - rare it ever drops below...

we had to increase the the supply - an easy thing to do via EDp to stop tripping out every time our pool pump was running

yep - complicated it surely is
i did a rough calculation over what we could do during sunlight hours - limited that to a max of 1500 per hour and had a stab at the savings and likely payback period...

i suspect youre doing something right - but i find your lecky bill incomprehensible
our standing order is higher than 12 € per month - if we dont have a realistic value of kw input supply the fuse...

its what we will do when we find our final home here
its a relatively new concept - people got stuck on the full solar batteries huge cost system
then lured into the mains feed - huge setup cost...

solar panels for hot water here are great - we get around 10 months free hot water from the sun each year with a simple panel system
many apartment blocks have huge ones on the roofs

the other big plus here for entertainment is music
lots of lots of free good quality live music in the bars and even in the streets in summertime
Also the 'big bands' often tour here...

Then I was looking at the cost of rent etc. on Numbeo (I looked at Setabul and Santarem. Can you really rent a 1-bed flat for £100-£200pm in these places??)
