re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

If the application is returned it won't be the first time it's happened and it won't be the last, so don't be too hard on yourself.

My application was returned because I missed one signature that...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

Quick update on my landing experience last week.

I arrived into Pearson T3 at 4pm. First met with the border guards on the skyway from the plane. I told them I was landing, and I was asked if I...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

COPR arrived in the mail this morning, expiry-dated as per the inquiry from London earlier this week: 3 April 2014.

It arrived more quickly than I was expecting.

ECAS still showing 'in process.'

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

An update!

I received an email from the London office saying my application was in the final stages of processing and asking if I can land by 14/04/03. After clarifying that meant April 3rd and...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

Yes, via the web site on Jan 23, and via the email address on Feb 1.

Indeed :)

Out of curiosity, once the COPR expires, is that it? One has to start the application process all over again?

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

Sure, I wasn't just planning on going ahead with that on my own accord.

I was assuming--and this is why I'm glad I posted, because some of my assumptions do seem to be way off!--that if I had...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

I've been thinking about the timescale implications if I redo my medical, assuming I get DM very/too close to the medical's expiration and CIC don't extend the deadline.

1. Booking medical...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

I couldn't wait, so I used the email to send another enquiry to ask if they required any additional info. Fingers crossed it gets the process moving along.

Thanks for the email tip!

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

One year tomorrow! So, yes it will be conditional PR.

It's possible, but not something I'd want to rely on. I also feel a sense of responsibility not to leave them in the lurch by cutting...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

Just to give you a little perspective, I'm still In Process (53 days now) and did my medicals in mid-March… those are tight timescales!

Although, unless my medicals are extended, I'll think I'll...

Yes, I did last Thursday evening, as I couldn't hold off any longer. No change in status yet though.

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

Well, I can now report that my application is joint longest 'In Process' on the 2013 spread sheet, tying with markstimson at an agonising 50 days

If I hit 51 days and take the record...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

Assuming you meet the requirements for conditional PR, then the answer is yes.

I asked the same question a few pages back, and while this is a relatively new rule, and therefore there isn't a lot...

Also, I asked a question a few weeks ago about the conditions of conditional permanent...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

When we applied in June I set my expectations on it taking about a year to process PR. Then I read about the nine-month average, and readjusted--hoping to be COPRed in March/April next year. As...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

Thanks for the reply. The reason I'm asking about this in the first place is that I expect to have to land before I am ready to stay in Canada, due to the likely COPR exist date. is I'll have to come...

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland

Thanks for the reply. We'd be subject to the condition.

I was imagining a scenario where my wife gets her job, gives her one month notice at her uk job and starts immediately following in March....
