Yes indeed, I'm just starting on my new career (landlord!) and verified checks of a prospective tenant's right to rent is mandatory (up to 3,000 pounds fine for non-compliance).

Can you get yourself a fully flexible return ticket, and once you're in the UK cancel the return sector? A fully flexible ticket should mean you get a refund (less taxes) for the unused portion.
