I was used to the insurance rate for the value of the car in the UK so always tried to get the lowest insurance...

We are also on Vancouver Island- we came 5 years ago. I got my drivers record from DVLA for £5 at that point. It didn't seem to be taken into account by ICBC. Apparently BC is the most expensive...
