Re: Is Australia really THAT expensive?

Yeah, it was a shithole then and it's still a shithole. You can still find the dirty slappers there. Not a place I'd be taking kids to.

Re: Is Australia really THAT expensive?

What did you expect from a Wetherspoon's pub? They are renowned for their el-cheapo 5 quid shit! That's why they are usually full of pensioners.

Re: Is Australia really THAT expensive?

I lived in London (E2) and I had a shock when I arrived back in Melbourne, so as far as London is concerned I would say it is also a "YES!".

I especially couldn't believe the price of a pint. Some...

Re: Is Australia really THAT expensive?

As you said:

Yeah, you won't get much of a 2 bed flat for $370/wk in St Kilda. Probably why there wasn't many viewing and everybody wants a balcony at least. St. Kilda has a tendency to have...

Re: Is Australia really THAT expensive?

Re: Is Australia really THAT expensive?

I do believe the OP mentioned Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney. No mention of Perth.

The reason why there are rentals available in Perth is because no one wants to go there and after visiting for a...

Re: Is Australia really THAT expensive?

And R&D. In fact, in motor racing more money goes into R&D for tyres than any other area.

True and they are the only Japanese ones that I can think of that I would put on my car. Bridgestone...

Re: Is Australia really THAT expensive?

Who writes the reviews? How many Toyo tyres do you see in motor racing?

Japs don't gererally make rubbish when it comes to electronic equipment and cars but they are not known for making tyres.

Re: Is Australia really THAT expensive?

Don't hold your breath. All the reasonably priced rental properties have hundreds of applications and the landlord can literally take his pick. In the end you could end up paying upwards of $600/wk...

Re: Is Australia really THAT expensive?
