Re: Let's talk about cars

My 1990 Miata (picked up in August 1989, the day the pre-orders became available!) is still going strong, despite having been the victim of benign neglect for the last decade. Sits outside in all...

Re: Let's talk about cars

I had Grand Cherokees back in the 1980s and 90s and they were excellent. Test drove a Wrangler once and it seemed a real rattletrap.

Re: Let's talk about cars

I've been using a similar herbal product, called Mouse Magic, since the day a dormouse started running back and forth across the hood of the Miata as I headed up the driveway. (Perhaps you heard my...

Re: Let's talk about cars

Hey, hey, hey, you set of male chauvs, cut it out! We women love our pickups too, and as usual, we can do it all. Haul a load of topsoil in the truck bed and get the groceries and a dog or two in the...

Re: Let's talk about cars

Which is OK until someone decides to get awkward. In the eighties only one plate was required in CT, but since then they are issued in twos and both are supposed to be used.

Re: Let's talk about cars

You mean that not even the car thread is safe from Trump these days?

Re: Let's talk about cars

I watched Mad Max at the weekend, and though I've never really been the monster truck type, I fell head over heels for the dual Cadillac number.

Re: Let's talk about cars

"Inside" was my phenomenally technical way of referring to part that makes it go, not the interior!

Re: Let's talk about cars

What have they done to the poor baby? Whatever they wanted to do inside, there was no need to mess with that classic exterior.

Re: Let's talk about cars

The bottom of my 2000 rusted out, though up top it looked like new. However, it did stand outside on dirt in all weathers for a decade. My "new" one lives indoors and is impeccable both sides up...

Re: Let's talk about cars

You're right -- small ones would just slip between the bars and depart unscathed!

Re: Let's talk about cars

No accessories -- though my current one did come with a massive black deer-catcher on the front, which makes it look rather badass (especially as the windows are tinted within an iota of legality)!

Re: Let's talk about cars

I am on my second Frontier and have loved both of them. The first was a four door, this one is the two door with the alleged second row of seats (a joke, but with them folded up, I can get one of my...

Re: Let's talk about cars

Even if it is a contraction of automatic as opposed to automobile, it is still a plural as opposed to a possessive.

Re: Let's talk about cars

LOL! Very hi-tech! I had nothing as fancy as that. I did get one of those lace-on leather steering wheel covers -- anything for my baby! I also had a car radio -- a transistor that rolled around...

Re: Let's talk about cars

Mine was definitely a 1964 -- B registration -- and I'm sure that all this talk of the floor starter would have jogged my memory if it had been there. LOL re the flappy thing, I do remember that! I...

Re: Let's talk about cars

This is an interesting chronology -- it seems to indicate that the floor start button was gone by 1962, or perhaps that was just for the Supers:

Re: Let's talk about cars

I was thinking more about this last night, and I have to admit that though I'm sure about a pull choke, I am really having a hard time remembering the actual starter (you know, it was the sixties, if...

Re: Let's talk about cars

Mine was a basic 1964 Austin Mini -- which some bright spark had painted to look like a Cooper from a distance! :) How I loved that car -- I can still remember its number plate, but I haven't a clue...

Re: Let's talk about cars

That's good news. Don't know how much snow you had up there, but was the traction good?
