Re: PATH TO BECOME QUALIFIED+LICENSED IN AUSTRALIA 2017

Sorry for the delayed response.

Re: PATH TO BECOME QUALIFIED+LICENSED IN AUSTRALIA 2017

The assessment isn't that bad - maybe look to revise DC circuits, power factor, transformer construction, etc.

Even though your assessment is with Vic Uni, check out...

You might also get lucky with the library :)

Re: PATH TO BECOME QUALIFIED+LICENSED IN AUSTRALIA 2017

In that case, can you current employer take you on as an apprentice? You can maybe get RPL for your current quals, and might be able to get an Aussie cert III in only a year or so. You'd need to find...

Re: PATH TO BECOME QUALIFIED+LICENSED IN AUSTRALIA 2017

If you are working as a labourer, you cannot claim to be working as an electrician. If you are working as an electrician, even supervised, you need some form of license here.

Without those years,...

Re: PATH TO BECOME QUALIFIED+LICENSED IN AUSTRALIA 2017

So how are you currently managing to work as an electrician? You could have issues with what was posted at the end of the mail from Vic Uni. What visa are you currently on?

Re: PATH TO BECOME QUALIFIED+LICENSED IN AUSTRALIA 2017

My interpretation would be that you need yes/no answers - and evidence backing up your answers.

Do you currently hold any form of electrical workers license?

Re: PATH TO BECOME QUALIFIED+LICENSED IN AUSTRALIA 2017

Ah okay.

Re-reading what they sent you, you need ti show how you meet the criteria - what units of your qualification match up to those listed? Do you have references to show how you have used...

If you have been completing an apprenticeship here, can't you obtain a cert III from the RTO - then no need for a skills assessment.
