N.

It's a Northern thing not a general English thing. The quiz is about how English you are, not how Northern. Seems rather obvious.

It's partly because of those kinds of silly comments that few people do. Mist English people don't behave like that. Do you?

Why shouldn't people be proud of being English? Why should the English be the only people not permitted a degree of national pride?

Because pride's a sin.

You ticked off 22 out of 70 on this bloody lovely list!

Blimey, that’s disappointing! You’re not very English at all — in fact, you’d probably feel more at home in the Colonies. No scones for you, I’m afraid.

More than I'd have liked, but given (as I've said on here before) that distinguishing between English-ness and British-ness can be difficult sometimes, as demonstrated by a number the questions on the quiz, perhaps not too surprising.

you should and its only that bloody silly streak within the English that makes them feel as though they can't and or shouldn't.

well that and the fact that half the "great English national moments and acts" should more correctly be ascribed to the Scots, Welsh and Irish!

The Empire? It's the British Empire and has always been called that. I see all these things as British and I think the separatist attitude shown by many is counter-productive to progress and harmony. Whatever the claim, we all have British passports and I'd like to keep it like that.

That chip on your shoulder troubling you again Shiva?
