A Screen Legend Dies
He was a great actor in my view and invariably starred in good movies...the late Paul Newman R.I.P.

He was great - loved him. Was actually going to put him and Patrick Swayze into the "Celebs most likely to die in next 12 months" thread, but couldn't do it in case I jinxed them.

Am very disappointed that the so-called classy ladies on this board have nothing to say about the sad demise of this great man.

When interviewed about the success of his long term marriage to Joanna Woodward and why he remained faithful, Paul Newman once said those immortal words..."I have steak at home so why go out for hamburgers?"

Yes, agree that he was a true Hollywood legend and a real loss to humanity. His 'salad dressings' range have raised around $200M for charity, he didn't keep any of the profits himself.
Made some fantastic films, but not actually that many of them, just around fifty. Many actors these days are making around 100 films. Just goes to show it was quality rather than quantity.
Personally, I don't think The Color of Money was his best film, even though he won an Oscar for it. It might just be the Academy was making up for the other nine nominations he got without winning.
RIP.
