Being sent to your home country is a "punishment"?

I note that's the only part you picked up on.
Would you accept being deported for a crime when someone else beside you committing the same crime can't be deported, purely because you were born in a different country?
How about if it was a case of deporting someone back to another US state from New York for instance for committing a crime?

Law and punishment should be left in the hands of the courts, not politicians, bureaucrats or civil servants.
And it is a crucial principle for the protection of us all that everyone is equal before the law. This has nothing at all to do with our distaste for any crime. If you do not have equal treatment you do not have a system of justice, you have a system of political power and influence and whim. Not a very good idea.

We're full.
Aus wanted to deport a dual national recently. Can't recall why. He'd been brought up in Aus from being a toddler. Didn't even speak the language of the other country. Wonder what happened to him ...

That fits the description of a British-Australian who was a rapist or child-molester, or something like that, in the news maybe a year or two back. He had left Britain as a toddler and knew nothing of life there.

BTW Who do you think passes the laws? Or would you prefer that laws are created by a "non-partisan" People's Committee for the Promulgation of Equitable Laws?

Seems he was PR, rather than dual, though. But he'd lived in Aus from being 2 and was packed off to Serbia (without speaking the language) after racking up a fairly long rap sheet - mainly for theft.

And the British legal system is indeed created by the two Houses, and upheld by the legal profession using precedent (our "constitution") and as much transparency as we can oblige them to use.
The principle of equality before the law is a key element of that and one of the few things that protect us from abuses of power by politicians and civil servants. You appear to be advocating for more power to the politicians and less to transparency and equality.

You need a halo for your avatar And you din't answer whether you'd accept criminals being deported to their home state if they broke the law in the state they moved to.
As others have said above, the law has to be applied equally and fairly. But then again, the American legal system is such a bastion of fairness that we should all emulate it.

I didn't say that, and I accept that there are consequences. Thankfully it has only happened once. Thankfully most police round here are using their time more productively pursuing real criminals.

As a result of your lexicological negligence, Theresa has decided to strip you of UK citizenship. There's no right of appeal I'm afraid.
