One Euro is around US$1.18 at the moment, if that's what you mean.

Do I misunderstand that table? If the first column is local price, eg
Eur2.67, the second is that price in US$, their value is US$2.37 which
implies that the exchange rate is around us$1 = Eur1.13 which seems wrong
to me.
What am I not getting ?

That is about what the exchange rate was before the "fall" (which
officially isn't happening as our President supportsw a "strong" dollar,
he told the japanese so so it must be true even though his treasury
secretary seems to like the current exchange rate for the export
business.

all I know is that as a traveller for me it sucks, european friends may
well disagree.

aha, ta, I thought the article said that they had updated the table, one
would've thought that they'd have updated with the current exchange rates.
So that must make the Euro about 10% overvalued then. Instead of 5%
undervalued that they state in the article. All very confusing, and
basically wrong.

I don't care either way, I'm not likely to visit the US in the foreseeable
future, so it's all fairly academic at to me.

I get this at http://www.oanda.com/convert/classic:
Monday, May 26, 2003
1 US Dollar = 0.84552 Euro
1 Euro (EUR) = 1.18270 US Dollar (USD)

Exactly, the article has it the wrong way round, unless of course they
haven't really updated thier table like they said.

My calculater puts 2.67 euro at 3.15 USD making the Big Mac really
expensive. (Good thing I don't really like the things)

Yeah, I still get the urge evry now and then, but even with a good price
you still *pay* for eating one, one way or another.

One big difference in price that the calculator seems to ignore is the
sales tax (up to 10% in US depending upon the store location) and the
VAT which is a part of the price in areas such as Europe.
