Not really; text-to-speech has been around for a long time. Doesn't require huge resources to run.

I agree with EMR. I have lived in the Silves area for 16 years and it is a nightmare to say the least!

We have a static caravan (weekender) on the hillside in Silves, 2 kms from the town on the river with full facilities and it is rarely used by travellers ... because they will not pay! I pay my taxes so they should pay to utilise them. Makes my blood boil.

I pay my Portuguese taxes too; yet my blood stays quite cool over the matter. I'm really not bothered by some people enjoying themselves for free. They come, they go. Some stay.
I expect most pay tax where they're resident.

How does text-to-speech handle graphics?
Well, it doesn't of course.

Who pays for the rubbish they generate.
Who pays for the water they take from fountains etc.
Who pays to clean up when they leave.
Who pays for the pollution they generate disposing of shit and piss ..
If you are so relaxed then open up your land for free and invite them in.
They will certainly take advantage of you and give you nothing in return if they can get away with it,

What a bunch of old moaning Minnies. If you are that worried that someone out there is getting something for nothing, get a campervan.. and join the "leave" camp, where there are thousand getting a lot for nothing.

Right now I am sitting in my campervan on a free site in Nazare, about to enjoy a lovely dinner my wife is preparing, wondering if there is anything you don't whinge about, it is never ending. I pity your poor wives.

....So just to recap, I am on a free site, eating my own food and using the local toilets afterwards....Blood simmering nicely is it? Oh and I pay taxes only in the soon to be independent UK.

...and just to lower your blood temperature a little there is a thing here called VAT.

Weather here, wish you were lovely!!!

PS They have these sites in almost every coastal town in Europe, it brings in business.

Enjoy your time freeloading in Nazare, we have more than enough down of them here in the Algarve.
Would you be so enthusiastic if you had to pay to use the facilities around you.

You could always go camp outside Alan's house in the UK EMR. He will be happy to provide you with free electricity, water, and the use of his toilets. You read it here.
The soon to be 'liberated' UK will welcome all those who used to use Europe for their 'free as air' holidays. Alan included. Go for it.i am sure you will soon become fast friends

No doubt he will welcome all and sundry to abuse his land and facilities as members of the same travelling community.

I AM the wife, and my husband totally agrees with me on this issue.

I suggest you go free camp where you pay your taxes then.

VAT is called IVA here ... that is pronounced EVA.

Most of these regs should apply to all campervanners, what ever their nationality or political views.
Let's add, it would not be an offence for graffiti artists to practice on any van not parked overnight on a legal site.😁
