expat living experience in Leisure Farm
Anyone can share some of your experience living in Leisure Farm, noticing they are having the main club house renovated, with new swimming pool and gym(?) and a new restaurant.. thanks a lot. ST

Hello and welcome to the forum
I think we have 1 or 2 folks living at LF on this forum. Hopefully you'll get a response soon.

Hi STW.
I'm renting a place at LF. It's a nice place to be. Calm. Tranquil. Plenty of space.
The Bale Club has changed management recently and there have been some big improvements. When we arrived last year, we tried it several times and were the only people there. Last Friday it was jumping! They've opened a bar area just off the restaurant, the chef is now French and the food is very nice... limited menu, but that can be a good thing. We now go at least once a week and will always meet people we know.
There are some downsides to being here. Being "close to nature" you'll find "nature" can be very close to you! A 5m python killed a pet dog a few weeks ago. We have problems with bats in the house. And spiders. Big spiders. Our monthly pest control spraying keeps it all down, but we still have the occasional "surprise"!
Then there's the location. It used to be a novelty making the 11Km detour through Gelang Patah to get home from S'pore in a car... that's worn thin. There's supposed to be a slip road direct onto the dual carriageway, but there's no sign of it ever being completed. HH and Ledang are much more convenient for getting around.
Security is probably the best you'll get in Johor. The guards are ex ghurkas, they are very strict at the two gates and make rounds every 30 minutes... but that didn't stop a robbery a couple of weeks ago.
Our lease is over next July and we're likely to shift to Ledang Heights or East Ledang for the convenience. However, if we do, we'll miss LF for sure. Those monkeys on the road every day are hard to beat for a "local" experience!

Thanks Bakedbean and Geedee.
Geendee's comments are helpful. Great to know Bale club's improvements. Guess you must live in one of those big bungalows apart from the crowds, hope the semi d houses in LF won't have the pest control issues as mentioned. I heard they stopped the slip road construction as there is a bigger plan/costal highway extension from Medini directly to 2nd link passing by/connecting to leisure farm , just hope it will be completed soon. We visited east Ledang , it's a nice development and we liked it too, but feel still like the space and big trees/quietness of LF better, nowhere as comparable ..

LF is nice, but not very convenient.
Have you looked at anywhere in Ledang Heights? That's a nice place too.
The semi-d's in LF are nice, especially in Bayou Grove, but a bit overpriced I think.
I think the trick is to find a landlord that's reasonable.... unless you're buying of course!
Good luck and might meet you down the Bale Club one day.
BTW... most of the people we meet at the Bale Club drive over from HH or Ledang!

Ledang Heights bungalows are nice too.while we prefer to have neighbors around , think bayou creek will be the best choice for us.. Look fwd to the new linkage road to 2nd link to be completed soon.. Hope to meet you someday at bale club!
